Study of the Concept of the development of higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030

On October 28, 2019, a workshop on the study of the Concept for the Development of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030was held at the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent. The seminar was attended by faculty members, heads of structural divisions of the Branch. The seminar was organized by teachers of “Social and Humanitarian Disciplines” department.

At the seminar the lecturers emphasized the main provisions of the Concept, target indicators for years of implementation in detail. The focus was on the measures envisaged, in particular, the development of public-private partnerships in universities, the inclusion of 10 national universities of the country for the first time 1000 positions of universities with a world rating, a phased transition to a credit-module system, the formation of strong practical skills based on international experience, raising the quality a new level of a system of training highly qualified personnel, ensuring the academic independence of universities. It was noted that in 2030 technoparks, foresight centers, transfer technologies, start-ups and accelerates will be created in the national universities. The Concept envisages the publication of articles of faculty, applicants, graduate students, doctoral students, undergraduate and graduate students in international journals with a high impact factor, as well as the phased inclusion of national journals in the international base.

The speakers outlined the strategic goals and priority areas for the development of the higher education system in the country. The speech touched upon future plans and prospects for improving the educational environment in the Branch. The seminar ended with a broad exchange of views on the topic of the seminar.
