Volunteering is an obligation of everyone
Participation of young people in social life, not only within the borders of the university but beyond them is an important task in the development of civil society. Some of the possible manifestations of that are volunteering movements and charitable actions which today are developing in the Republic of Uzbekistan at full pelt. Volunteers hugely benefit to save the environment, historical monuments, society in general and some people in particular. It helps the participants to foster such qualities as responsibility, kindness, empathy, tolerance, and also helps in personal self-fulfillment.
For that reason, the faculty and administration of the branch of the Russian University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent are supporting such aspirations of students in every way. At least once in a month, students try to organize such an activity – participation in the musical festival “Pulse of the City”, visits to the orphan houses with children’s feast, visits to the nursing homes – 2018 was full of good deeds. And the new year has started with participation in volunteering ecological movement.
On January 17, 2019, the students of the URN-15-01 group, representatives of small business and other city universities within the framework of the “Day of Social Activity of the Youth” took part in landscaping and cleaning the territory of the Mirzo-Ulugbek, Sergeli and Yakkasaray districts. Special attention was given to the children playgrounds and zones nearby the kindergartens and schools. Also, assistance was provided with planting seedlings in greenhouses under the State Committee of Forestry, as winter is not a reason to stop planting of greenery in the city. 300 seedlings of oak, chestnut, juniper, and other plants will adorn the streets this spring.
Such actions are not a once-only event; students already have plans on the further participation in such projects. Everyone is responsible for the clean city and the level of social life in the country and everyone can do something meaningful and useful for his Motherland.
