“There is no place for drugs in the life of young people”

In Uzbekistan, at the stage of deep transformations, the social danger of the spread of psychoactive substances continues to be relevant and affects all segments of the population. The number of young people who use psychoactive substances continues to increase continuously. In recent years, government agencies have implemented a set of measures aimed at counteracting the consumption of narcotic drugs and their illicit trafficking.

That is why, the Branch of Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent pays particular attention to the issues of prevention of the use of psychoactive substances among students.

To implement this, on October 13, 2022, the Branch continued a series of lectures and seminars on the topic: “Use of psychotropic intoxicating substances among young people: problems and solutions”, with the participation of employees of the National Information Analytical Center for Drug Control under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan: Yusupov Kh.S., Aripova Sh.T., Sultanova Z.G. and narcologist of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Narcology Kan A.O.

During the meeting, the leading officer H. Yunusov briefly highlighted the main goals and objectives, the achieved positive indicators for the withdrawal of drugs from illicit trafficking in Uzbekistan, and also revealed the scheme for their implementation among the youth through the global Internet. To assimilate and consolidate the material, a video was shown that reveals the mechanism of a criminal group in Tashkent city, the criminal punishment of the defendants, including university students.

A.Kan focused the attention of the audience on the synthetic drug “Salt”, which is the most widely used lately, and is distinguished by its low price, powerful and unpredictable effect, and the rapid development of addiction. Salt addiction is considered one of the strongest because it is difficult to treat. Regular use of the drug causes the death.

On the example of short films, the main symptoms accompanied by its use, which cause extremely inappropriate behavior of a person, are highlighted.

At the end of the debates, watching thematic videos, a lively exchange of views took place, student youth once again realized that the strong resistance of society to organized crime, corruption and drug use is an integral part of the formation of an active citizenship of every citizen of our country.
