Imperishable memory of Alisher Navoi

On February 6, 2021, as part of the wide celebration of the 580th anniversary of the great poet, thinker and humanist Alisher Navoi, the faculty of the departments “Social and Humanitarian Disciplines”, “Economics of Oil and Gas”, “Foreign Languages”, students of academic groups, and also employees of the department “Manaviyat va ma'rifat” and for work with youth, visited one of the largest scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan - the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi, where monuments of the literary heritage of the Uzbek people are kept.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the senior researcher of the museum, literary critic Fayzieva Nasiba Kurbanovna, who acquainted with the exhibits of the museum, a unique fund of literature of the Uzbek people, monuments of material and spiritual culture. The halls with samples of poems, gazelles and portraits of Alisher Navoi aroused particular interest.

Currently, the museum is demonstrating the centuries-old history of Uzbek literature in manuscripts, various historical documents, paintings, archival and photographic materials. More than 17 000 works of art belonging to the era of Alisher Navoi, various in style of execution, are exhibited, namely, archaeological sites, films reflecting the centuries-old history of Uzbek culture. In addition, the museum contains more than 65 000 documents about the life and work of the writers of our country in different years.

Teachers and students witnessed exhibits placed in the halls under the names “Uzbek literature of the ancient period”, “Study of the life and work of Alisher Navoi”, “Literature of the 16th-20th centuries”, “Exposition department”, “Modern literature and folklore”, etc. they carry out research work on the study of the rich manuscripts of the spiritual heritage of the Uzbek people. In the huge halls of the museum, visitors were able to get acquainted with the rich literary heritage of Alisher Navoi, Babur, Furkat, Nadira, Uvaysi and many poets and writers, whose works have been rewritten by calligraphers for many centuries and passed down from generation to generation. The museum also contains exhibits donated by leaders of various countries on the occasion of their visits to our country.

Currently, these manuscripts and documentary materials are an adornment of the exposition of the Museum of Literature. The halls display the works of the largest representatives of the Herat school of the era of Navoi, Mirali, Khiravi, Sultanali Mashhadi, Abdul Jamil Katib and contemporary famous miniaturists and artists such as Ch.Akhmarov, N. Voronsky, T. Sadullaev, and many others.

Literary critic Fayzieva Nasiba Kurbanovna noted that in order to implement the Law on the State Language, an educational and educational center “Ta’lim” was created at the museum, designed to promote the rich literary heritage of the East. In the future, it is planned to open additional halls “Literature of the Ancient Period”, “Literature of the Middle Ages” and “Literature in the period of independence”.

Teachers and students had the opportunity to ask the specialist questions of interest on the subject of the expositions. They were greatly impressed by the visit and expressed a desire to visit the museum again and enjoy the greatest masterpieces of the great poets of the East.
