Vigilance is the demand of time

A meeting with Salim Anvarovich Tajidinov, an employee of the Office for the Coordination of Internal Affairs of the Mirzo-Ulugbek District in the fight against religious extremism and terrorism was held in the Students' Dormitory of the Branch of the Russian University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent. The meeting was attended by students, teachers of the department "Social and Humanitarian Disciplines", the heads of the department "Manaviyat va marifat" and the work with the youth and teachers.

Tajidinov Salim Anvarovich in his speech drew the attention of the event participant to the urgency of the problem, spoke about the ongoing investigations in our country. He spoke in details  on the forensic characteristics of this crime, the collection of relevant information, information characterizing the identities of criminals and victims. The circumstances to be proved, characteristic reasons and grounds for initiating a criminal case, the procedure for conducting a preliminary investigation were given. During the meeting, typical investigative situations, versions and procedures of the investigator at the initial stage of the investigation, tactical recommendations on investigative actions and the application of security measures to victims of trafficking were examined. The statistics on the crimes committed have been announced.

Usmanova Aziza Abdullajonovna, an associate professor of the Social and Humanitarian Disciplines department, emphasized that one of the key priorities of the country’s renewal is consistent democratization, liberalization of the judicial system, ensuring the rule of law, reliable protection of the rights and interests of individuals. Therefore, in the modern world, human trafficking is one of the most flagrant and massive violations of human rights and freedoms, and also represents a real threat to national security. The speaker named a number of reasons contributing to the growing problem, namely economic globalization, technological progress, political changes, and cultural interaction between people around the world.

Shukurova Lola Renatovna, a specialist of the “Manaviyat va marifat” Department recalled that in Uzbekistan in order to regulate relations in the field of combating human trafficking, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On combating human trafficking” was adopted on April 17, 2008, and a new wording of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On human trafficking” was adopted on September 16, 2008. It provides for criminal liability for the purchase and sale of a person, or his recruitment, transportation, transfer and harboring.

At the end of the meeting participants exchanged the views on the current issues. Students raised many questions and called for vigilance, responsibility for their own lives and the fate of the country, the strengthening of ideological immunity, as well as gaining true knowledge for the prosperity.
