Legal literacy of youth - as the basis for the formation of a legal culture
In order to raise legal literacy and legal culture among students, on November 29, 2019, the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M.Gubkin in Tashkent held meeting with the head of the People's Reception Office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Yunusabad district Rasulov Zikyrilla Kudratovich. The meeting was attended by students of academic groups URG-17-02, URB-17-01 and UGF-17-01, professor Khodzhemetov A.A., associate professor Usmanova A.A., Chairwoman of the Women's Council of the Branch Sh.A. Namazova, senior lecturers Abdullaeva D.U., Shalieva E.S., Demina E.I.
As we know, one of the constitutional rights of citizens is the right to appeal of individuals and legal entities to state authorities. Speaker Rasulov Z.K. noted that in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 28, 2016 No. 4904, People's Receptions were created in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and in Tashkent city, as well as in each district and town. The main tasks of the People’s Receptions and the Virtual Reception are to organize a direct dialogue with the population, to ensure the functioning of a qualitatively new and effective system of work with appeals of individuals and legal entities aimed at the full protection of their rights, freedoms and legitimate interests.
Rasulov Z.K. emphasized that currently all conditions have been created for the implementation of the constitutional rights of citizens to appeal to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Government, government, judicial, law enforcement and regulatory bodies, local government bodies. The meeting participants were informed about the main provisions of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 11, 2017 “On Appeals from Individuals and Legal Entities”, about the procedure and deadline for considering appeals, and about the responsibility of individuals for untimely and improper consideration of appeals.
