Summer student internship-2019 will be held in Karshi
The Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent city hosted the ceremony of the beginning of the summer internship, which for the second and third year students of the educational profile “Oil and Gas Business” will be held at the training site and production bases of the ERIELL Group and Enter Engineering in Karshi.
According to the Deputy Director - Executive Director of the Branch, Professor Abdulla Makhmudovich Magruppov, in cooperation with the above companies - for the first time in the history of the university - in the course of the practice, training courses for the working professions were organized with issuance of certificates of “Electrogas Welder” and “Drilling Master Assistant” of the III and VI grades.
We asked Shavkat Ravilov, the Dean of the Faculty, to tell us about theoretical course in the Branch.
- Shavkat Mugaveevich, currently intern students are listening to a whole course of lectures. What are these subjects?
- Depending on future working specialties, for example, such general technical subjects as electrical engineering, technical drafting, labor protection, materials science constitute a part of the electric and gas welder profession of the II and IV grade. Among the special disciplines are the foundations of the theory of welding and cutting metals, equipment, welding equipment and technology; construction technology. The theoretical programme of the driller’s assistant includes topics such as safety measures during drilling operations; lifting operations; loading and unloading and moving loads. In addition, it is fire safety; electrical safety; environmental protection; first aid in case of accidents.
- Are there any differences in the internship of the second and third year students?
- For second-year students this is the first production-oriented practice: it is carried out with the aim of mastering theoretical and practical skills in the profession, in particular, operation and maintenance of the process equipment used in welding.
The purpose of the second internship for third-year students is the acquiring professional competencies through direct participation in a specific industrial activity. Intermediate certification on the results of the first and second practice will be held in the form of an interview and defense of the internship reports.
Zarina Uzakova, Head of the Educational and Methodological Department, told us about the organization of the departure, the schedule for students’ internship.
- Zarina Furkatovna, please tell us in more detail how the departure will take place?
Totally, 175 second year students and 44 third year students out of 13 academic groups are sent to the training sites of the ERIELL Oilfield Services Middle East DMCC and Enter Engeneering companies in Karshi. Sending by rail will take place according to the planned schedule, accompanied by teachers and employees of the Branch of Mikhail Lejnev, Mikhail Avakov, Shukhrat Bobokhujayev, Usan Nurmatov, Mirzaanvar Akhmedov. It is noteworthy that all students who go to practice have passed a medical examination, this is one of the basic requirements.
We asked Alim Azizovich Yunusov, the Deputy Head of the Representative Office of ERIELL Company, to tell about the summer field production practice directly at the site.
- Alim Azizovich, what is the peculiarity of the current summer internship?
- This is already the third educational and training practice for students of the Branch, which is held in partnership with the ERIELL Group in compliance with the Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev PP-3151 as of July 27, 2017 “On measures to further expand the participation of spheres of the economy in improving the quality of training of specialists with higher education” on the integration of educational and production processes. At the same time, if earlier we accepted one or two groups of students - approximately 30-35 people, then in 2019 - together with our partners - Enter Engineering company, which participates for the first time, we will accept 13 groups: 218 students.
- So, for students this is a kind of introduction to the profession?
- Field summer internship provides students with the opportunity to comprehensively familiarize themselves with their future profession and its specifics, in fact, to pass the test of strength, to make sure that their life choices are true. Moreover, for our part, we look at the students with the aim of personnel selection from them interested in further work on the Company’s projects.
I note that the organization of summer internship is one of the areas of cooperation with the Branch, starting with participation in the process of teaching students. After the conclusion of the contract with the university, we regularly monitor the performance of our students, organize them master classes in the branch with leading experts of our company. Meanwhile, we work with both students and their parents: during meetings to discuss the level of attendance and progress of children. In addition, we actively participate in all the activities of the Branch. This includes graduates with diplomas, scientific and practical conferences, and other joint projects.
Professional training of students is the Company’s contribution to tomorrow, and to the future – for the sake of prosperity and well-being of the country.
