«BOOKS TEACH TO LIVE, BOOKS MUST BE CHERISHED»

Currently in our country on the basis of the action Strategy in the five priority areas of the Republic of Uzbekistan 2017-2021, large-scale transformations are being carried out in all spheres and industries. Meanwhile a particular attention is paid to improving the culture of reading, which is of great importance for the growth of cultural intellectual potential, expansion of the outlook of our people, especially the younger generation, upbringing of a harmoniously developed personality in the spirit of love and devotion to the Motherland.

To increase the reading culture among students on April 10, 2019, the Branch of Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin Tashkent city of Tashkent, the department “Manaviyat va marifat” on work with young people and gifted students together with the Information and Resource Center held an event on the topic “The book teaches us how to live, the book should be cherished.”

For familiarization with the reading culture, constant propaganda is conducted among the youth of the Branch using all possible resources available in the information resource center.

In her introductory speech, L. Shukurova, a specialist at the “Manaviyat va marifat” department for work with young people, noted that in order to protect young people from the negative impact of ideas alien to our society, “mass culture” promoted in social networks requires reading propaganda among students of patriotic literature. As well as instilling the idea of creating personal libraries, fostering a love for books that carry the cultural traditions of our people, the heritage of our great ancestors, family values, which is one of the urgent tasks of our time.

The head of the Information Resource Center I. Konstantinova informed the students about the new literature received; noted that the library today is a modern information center, the social function of which is active participation in the education and upbringing of a person, shaping his intellectual and practical activities. A book is a source of knowledge, and if you want to keep up with the times, you have to read a lot.

The event has been held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
