Expanding International Cooperation

On February 21, 2019, a delegation of Gazprom company visited the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M.Gubkin in Tashkent city.

The expansion of business cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in the oil and gas industry, large-scale investment projects necessitates the need for highly qualified specialists. In this regard, investors are showing an increased interest in the system of educating future professionals in the country, in particular, within the walls of the Branch, which has become a real source of personnel for oil workers.

The delegation had a familiarization tour, during which they were able to see the realities of the life of the Branch, in particular, the arrangement of the academic building, the audiences, the assembly hall, where scientific, practical, cultural and educational events take place. As part of the excursion, the Deputy Director - Executive Director of the Branch Abdulla Makhmudovich Magrupov spoke about the reforms in higher education in the country. He noted the increased demand of the oil and gas industry in ready-made specialists, both production workers and managers, and, meanwhile, the demand for higher professional education in the Branch among school graduates.

According to the managing director of “Gazprom EP International B.V.”, Andrei Fick, they have been impressed by the high level of organization of the educational and scientific process and the equipment of the Branch.

“Universities are a direct reflection of the state of the economy, the state’s attention to training,” commented Andrei Stepanovich.

By the results of the visit, the parties reached an agreement on further fruitful cooperation. As Andrei Fick promised, in order to determine the areas of future cooperation, in particular, on the subject of organizing internships, developing the student base, the “Gazprom” PR manager will soon visit the university.
