Welcome speech to the conference participants

Dear conference participants, guests, colleagues, dear students!

I am glad to welcome you at the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Ivan Mikhaylovich Gubkin in Tashkent at the annual student scientific conference “Oil and Gas”.

We would like express our gratitude to “Uzbekneftegaz” JSC for their assistance in holding this conference and participation in it. This close cooperation with the enterprises of “Uzbekneftegaz” JSC in the issues of education, training and employment of our students is a clear indicator of the integration of science, education and production.

In addition, I would like to note that every year interest in this conference from our student youth is increasing. And definitely this is due to the large-scale reforms ongoing in our republic.

The transition of the national economy to the innovative way of development is associated with large-scale investments in human potential. Innovative potential is a strategic resource that determines the place of the national economy in the world economic system. In the majority of countries, innovation potential is considered as a fundamental source of economic development and is the most important component of national wealth. And as confirmation of this, our esteemed President Shavkat Miramonovich has declared 2019 “The Year of Active Investments and Social Development”.

The process of integration of various levels and organizational forms of education, science and production is a trend that gradually involves all countries of the world, including Uzbekistan. In addition, in recent years much has been said about creating forms that can unite the scientific and educational potential. It is important to realize that the training of highly qualified specialists is not the objective of a single educational institution, but of the entire educational system in close connection with production. That is why the conference “Oil and Gas” is designed to unite student youth and oil and gas industry representatives, thereby creating a field for the exchange of views, knowledge and mutual cooperation. The level of education in the society raises the number and speed of scientific discoveries, as well as the speed of their dissemination in the industrial sector. Modern scientific and technological progress has led to significant changes in science, technology and education, which is associated with a qualitatively new level of interaction between these important areas of the society.

For 11 years our Branch has been acting as an educational establishment that prepares personnel for the oil and gas industry of our Republic. Graduates of our Branch successfully continue their activities in enterprises. We are pleased with the success of our students. I would like to note that in 2018 our six students became winners of a conference held at the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M.Gubkin in Moscow, and we hope that this trend will increase every year.

I would like to express my gratitude to all conference participants and guests participating in the conference. I wish you fruitful discussions and new achievements!
