Meeting with the delegation of the British company "Pearson"

Within the framework of international cooperation on December 14, 2018 the Branch of Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M.Gubkin in Tashkent city held a working meeting with Dick Coultas and Simon Gulden, the representatives of the British publishing and educational company “Pearson”.

“Pearson” company is considered to be a leader in the development and implementation of the most advanced information technologies in education. The “Pearson” company’s portfolio includes study packs for blended and distance learning on the educational platform MyEnglishLab, high-tech adaptive online testing; a full range of electronic textbooks and books for professional development. In addition, “Pearson” is recognized as the largest provider of innovative online laboratories for the world's leading universities.

Global business areas of “Pearson” company focus on school, higher education, and professional activities (including textbooks and digital technologies for teachers and students). The school brands of this company include BTEC, Bug Club, Edexcel, Fronter, GradPoint, Schoolnet, and SuccessNet. The higher education brands of “Pearson” include eCollege, Mastering / MyLabs, Revel, Online Tutoring (Smarthinking) and Financial Times Publishing. In addition, "Pearson" implements many educational projects of various levels, from preschool education up to professional training all throughout the world.

During the meeting, the parties expressed interest in establishing cooperation in teaching and practical, as well as research and educational activities.

In addition, in terms of this meeting, the possibilities of cooperation of the Branch with the international educational company “Pearson” have  been considered with the aim of improving the quality of the educational process and the system of teaching English, participating the faculty staff and students of the Branch in educational projects, raising the interest and quality of education through the introduction of new teaching aids and techniques, exchange of experience in educating highly qualified personnel for the oil and gas industry.

The parties have focused on the points of understanding of the common goals and objectives of cooperation and agreed on further measures to implement joint plans.

An introductory tour around the Branch to familiarize the delegation with its history, structure, with the order of the organization of the educational process, equipment of classrooms and laboratories, as well as pedagogical and research activities has been organized for representatives of “Pearson” company.
