The great Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev

On May 21, 2018, in the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NIU), on the organization of competitions for books lovers among young people, ) named after IM Gubkin, an event dedicated to a wide study and propaganda of the creative heritage of the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev was held in the Residence of Students.

At this event, organized by the "Manaviyat va Marifat" department, the teachers Akhmedova IN, Abdullaeva DU took part. and students of group GR 17-01. A report on the life and work of the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev was made by D.Mansurova G.H. Students Sobirova Valeriya, Amanbayev Farhad, Tursynbaev Makshetbai made a distinctive distinction and demonstrated episodes from the life of the poet, that the formation of the worldview of Abai was influenced by poets and scholars of the East who adhered to humanistic ideas (Alisher Navoi, Nizami, Fizuli, Ibn Sina and others), as well as works by Russian classics, and through them European literature. Abai's poems, his prose, his music are full of deep lyricism, mild humor, denunciation of vices and chanting good, love of his people. His poems "Masgut", "Eskendir" ("Alexander the Great"), verses "Black Eyes", "Dense Fog", "Seasons", etc. became classics of not only Kazakh but also world literature.

At the end of the event, the teachers gave instructions, instilled interest in students to read books, and also announced a competition for book lovers among young people in the Branch.
