Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. UP-5326 of February 3, 2018 "On Additional Organizational Measures to Create Favorable Conditions for the Development of Tourism Potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan", and also to ensure the accelerated development of domestic tourism as one of the most important factors of sustainable socio-economic development of regions, acquaintance with the cultural and historical heritage and natural resources of the country On February 27, 2018 employees of the Branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NIU) the city of Tashkent visited the city of Karshi.
Karshi is one of the largest regional centers of Uzbekistan and the administrative center of the Kashkadarya region. The city is located on the western outskirts of the Pamir-Alai, in the heart of the Karshi oasis, near the Kashkadarya river. The history of Karshi is more than 2700 years, although according to archaeologists the first settlements here were still in the 6th century BC. Today it is a modern city with a developed infrastructure, in which ancient monuments have been preserved. The city has preserved several architectural structures that became the property of Uzbek history and the pride of Uzbekistan.
During the trip, the employees of the Branch laid flowers at the monument of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
