“We should live in a new Uzbekistan - a free and prosperous country!”
A new academic year has started at the Branch of Russian University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M.Gubkin in Tashkent
On the first day of the beginning of the academic year and in connection with the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan on September 6, on the stage of the assembly hall of the Branch, a solemn event has been held under the slogan “We should live in a new Uzbekistan - a free and prosperous country!”
The event has been attended by a deputy of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the faculty and employees of the Branch, freshmen and their parents.
In the welcoming speech of the executive director of the Branch, Abdulla Magrupov, it has been noted that the country celebrates the 30th anniversary of independence in high spirits. Especially the growth of the economy and the well-being of the population has been achieved over the past five years. The authority in the international arena has significantly grown, a new stage has begun in the development of the sphere of science and education. New universities, branches of leading foreign universities have been created again, and academic exchange programs have been launched and this fact gives more chances for self-development and self-realization for young people.
Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Abdumalik Akramov made congratulations and wishes of success in his studies. “Currently when the economy and, in particular, the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan is increasing the pace of development and mastering all new horizons of production, it especially needs new qualified young personnel capable of solving complex production and management tasks”, - Abdumalik Akramov noted. The guest of the event was glad for the students and, in particular, for the freshmen, for the educational-methodological and educational-technological opportunities for organizing the educational process created in the Branch. He spoke about the ongoing reforms in the higher education system, the opening of new universities and areas of education. He highly appreciated the role and prestige of the Branch in training highly qualified personnel for the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the event, freshmen were presented with musical and theatrical performances of senior students and video greetings from the alumni of the Branch.
Another of the most memorable moments of the event was the ceremony of awarding the winners of the Competition for the best creative work held among the students of the Branch. During which, in a solemn atmosphere, the winners have been awarded certificates of honor and gifts.
At the end of the event, first-year students with their supervisors gathered in the classrooms for the first lesson.
