Winners of the "Gubkin Readings" -2021: at the forefront of research
The scientific student conference "OIL AND GAS - 2021" at the Branch of Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Tashkent city, with great assistance which is supported by “Uzbekneftegaz” JSC, presented new promising research of gifted youth for the oil and gas industry. It is noteworthy that among the authors of the best of the best reports of "Gubkin Readings-2021" there are many winners from among the students of the Branch.
On the eve of “International Women's Day on March 8”, we decided to provide their feedback and comments about the scientific forum and alma mater in general.
Taking into account that this year student developments have been evaluated only by leading specialists of oil and gas companies, as a result, the best works were selected based on their relevance, quality and need for implementation, implementation in production, the more valuable is the success of the students of the Branch in such a responsible scientific industry forum.

As the Head of the Section "Economics" of the Student Scientific Society of the Branch and the diploma winner of the "Gubkin Readings" -2021 Maksudova Nargiza said, the current student conference "Oil and Gas" in the Branch provided a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the problems of the industry, the process of finding solutions truly invaluable practical advice regarding their further scientific and future career.
So, for example, in the composition of the representative commission of the section "Economics and Management in the Oil and Gas Industry": Head of the Department for Prospective Business Development Sukhrob Shukhratovich Annamuradov; Tamara Samvelovna Mirumyants, Leading Specialist of the Business Planning and Economic Analysis Department; head of the group of the cost control and tariff policy department Artem Vladimirovich Ishkhanov; Leading Specialist of the Business Development Department of the Department of Prospective Business Development of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Abubakir Toirzhonov and a recent graduate of the Branch Sergey Vladimirovich Pak - Head of the Department of Economic Research and Feasibility Studies of O'ZLITINEFTGAZ JSC Projects.
During the discussions, the invited experts in the most detailed and thorough way explained to the authors of the presentations the strengths and weaknesses of their research, which, no doubt, will help improve the quality of the preparation of reports and our future scientific activities in general, noted the head of the SSS of the Branch Nargiza Maksudova.
- With great attention we were watching the scientific discussion, the exchange of views between the teachers and invited experts after each listened report, which, as a result, gave a new qualitative level of organization of the traditional conference based on the practical benefits for students as an unshakable rule of "Gubkin Readings", - shares the winner "Gubkin Readings" - 2021 Alexandra Kim. Her work "The relevance of the production of sulfur concrete and sulfur asphalt on the basis of the Shurtan gas chemical complex" experts called "necessary for the industry and performed according to all quality standards." - We are very grateful to the organizing committee of the conference for attracting leading industry specialists as experts.
- The Branch really contributes to the promotion of gifted youth, in particular, it provides distinguished students with a chance to try their hand at the parent university as well, - the conference diploma winner Malika Yusupova believes. - So, in the future, many students of the Branch won prizes at the Oil and Gas conference in Moscow, including the activists of the Student Scientific Society section Irina Ten, Gavkhar Akhmedjanova, Sergey Pak, who are currently formed as successful industry specialists.
- At the Branch, students have all the conditions for self-realization, not only in scientific but also creative terms: for example, I am the head of a theater studio, we even became finalists of the last Republican festival of student theaters. At the "Gubkin Readings" I made a presentation "Prospects for the development of geological and geophysical support when drilling horizontal wells", for which I was awarded a third degree diploma in the section "Geology and Geophysics". I was very inspired by the assessment of experts who noted that the topic is interesting and that it is very important for us to develop well logging in horizontal wells, in particular, geosteering, says Kameya Galeeva, diploma winner of the Gubkin Readings - 2021.
“Although there were no oil workers in our family before me, my parents approved of my choice and are proud of my future in-demand profession,” says Mahida Makhambetova, winner and holder of a first-degree diploma in the section “Development of oil and gas fields”. - All the years my mother worked as a university lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, my father - in the field of football, he is a graduate of the Physics Department of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov. In order to realize my dream, I was interested in oil and gas since high school, although I had no idea of the process of hydrocarbon production itself. Since that time, my favorite subjects have been physics and mathematics, and successful participation in international Olympiads has defined me in a technical direction. And every year I fall more and more in love with my profession, the Branch, where I am inspired by our wonderful teachers, specialists of the highest level with huge practical experience, who always very interestingly present the most complex scientific information. My scientific experience at the Branch was the work on landscaping the bottom of the Aral Sea, in the course of experiments we use ameliorants used in the oil and gas industry for soil reclamation, we are looking for the most optimal and economical option for greening the soil. Probably my civic position prompted me to this. Since I myself live in the immediate vicinity of the epicenter of the problem, it is very important for me that flora and fauna are restored in my native land, I will do my best to contribute to this with my knowledge acquired at the Branch."
