Delivering master classes in physics for students of the academic lyceum

In order to systematically implement reforms to develop a system for selecting talented youth, create the necessary conditions for its support, encourage the aspirations of the younger generation for science, as well as improve the activities of academic lyceums, teachers of the Physics, Electrical Engineering and Heat Engineering department organized a series of physics master classes for students academic lyceum.

Within the framework of the first master class, which took place on January 30, 2021, 12 students of the lyceum took part, under the leadership of D.S. Dadajanova. They met with the faculty of the physics department, learned about the main directions of the department's activities. An excursion to the laboratories of the department was conducted, demonstration experiments on computed tomography, the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction and spectroscopy were shown. Senior teacher of the department M.A. Alimov held a round table on the topic “Modern provisions of the physics of elementary particles”. Senior lecturer F.F. Shaimov introduced the students of the Lyceum to modern problems in laser physics. Following the results of the first master class, topics for scientific work of students were determined under the guidance of the department teachers.

On February 6, 2021, there was held the second master class. This time, the main emphasis was placed directly on the detailed discussion and development of topics assigned to the students. Based on the results of the master class, it was decided to prepare abstracts for the participation of the children in the student scientific conference “Oil and Gas – 2021”, which will be held at the Branch on February 25, 2021.
