"The Constitution is the key to a prosperous life"

Currently Uzbekistan is confidently moving along a new path of progress and development. The reforms implemented in all spheres are primarily aimed at ensuring the well-being of the people.

The Basic Law of the country determines that a person, his life, freedom, honor, dignity and other inalienable rights are the highest value. People have a belief in justice, the rule of law. The main thing is that our compatriots have a growing desire to participate in solving existing problems in life, social processes.

At the same time, in order for our laws to work in full force, contribute to the full implementation of the relationship between the individual, society and the state, in other words, for the practical implementation of reforms, citizens must have a legal consciousness and legal culture.

On December 5, 2020, on the eve of the celebration of the 28th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​Kadirbekova Durdona Khikmatullaevna held a spiritual and educational hour on the topic “The Constitution is the key to a prosperous life” for students living in the student dormitory 2 of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after Gubkin in Tashkent. The event was attended by the Head of the “Manaviyat va Marrifat” Department and on work with the youth of the Branch K.A.Sultanov, the head of the student’s dormitory 2 R. Mirzaakhmedov and students.

 The main aim of this conversation was to provide information on the role and place of the Constitution in our national legal system. The main objectives of this event were to attract students to expand their knowledge of the essence of the basic law - the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the development of legal literacy of students.

During the spiritual and educational event, a presentation was made on the Constitution of Uzbekistan, its origin, its main functions and symbols of the country - the anthem, state flag and emblem of Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, it was said that the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a strong support and legal guarantee of social development, a bright symbol of the independence of our Motherland. Its adoption became one of the most important stages of the country's sovereignty. The Basic Law laid the foundation for ensuring human rights and freedoms, peace and harmony in society, the implementation of large-scale reforms in the political, economic and social spheres. This serves as a solid legal foundation for the consistent development of social relations and determines the vector of interaction between a citizen, society and the state. The core of constitutional law is the current Constitution itself. The role and place of the Constitution in any national legal system is fundamental and paramount. Moreover, each state has a constitution peculiar only to it. It should be emphasized that there is not and cannot be a universal constitutional model, the only one suitable for all states. Each state has its own path of constitutional development. In this regard, the Constitution of independent Uzbekistan isn’t an exception.

As the world practice shows, the main condition for the formation and development of an independent democratic rule of law is the presence of the Constitution. Over the past 28 years since the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, its norms and provisions have been consistently implemented. Significant success is achieved in all areas of our life. In our country, thanks to the Constitution, civil and interethnic harmony is ensured, the standard of living rises every year, high levels have been achieved in socio-cultural development, education, science and sports.

Students talked about the history of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, the principles of the constitutional system, the signs and principles of sovereignty and democracy, reflected in the main law of our country. A heated discussion was aroused by the discussion of human rights and duties enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic, they answered questions with pleasure, showed ingenuity and ingenuity, solving puzzles and arguing their point of view on important issues of electoral law.
