The faculty staff and students of the Branch honored the memory of the First President
Representatives of the faculty staff and the Student Scientific Council of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent laid floral tributes at the foot of the monument to the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Day of Remembrance of Islam Karimov, annually celebrated in compliance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is one of the good traditions of the Branch.
It should be noted, that the management and senior lecturers of the departments: technologies of geological and geophysical exploration, economics, foreign languages, physical education and sports, social and humanitarian disciplines, as well as “Marifat va manaviyat”, the Advisory Council for Women affairs, Student Scientific Society, a football squad of the Branch participated in the solemn ceremony of laying floral tributes.
According to Malika Yusupova, a second-year student of the Department of Economics, Chairman of the Foreign Languages Section of the SSS of the Branch, the joint participation with the mentors in the event, which became an expression of deep respect for the memory of the First Head of Independent Uzbekistan, helped her to feel like a part of a famous university.
- The faculty and management of the Branch astonish not only with a solid stock of knowledge, which they generously share with us, students, from the bottom of their hearts and souls, but also with their indifference and real paternal concern for the education of young people, invariably setting here a personal example of patriotism - notes Malika Yusupova.
- The first President Islam Karimov was a support for young people: at the time of his death I was in school, - says the head of the economy section of the SSS Nargiza Maksudova, - I remember, along with a feeling of deep loss, confusion from the unknown what awaits us in the future. It is gratifying that nowadays we, young people, have new horizons and prospects ahead.
- A memorable event for me is one of the significant pages of student life. This year I am finishing my studies at the Branch, currently I am developing my own project for a discount application, after graduation I plan to enter a master program in Tashkent, - says Alexandra Kim.
Islam Karimov died on September 2, 2016 at the age of 78 as a result of a blood-stroke, he was buried on the territory of the Khazret-Khyzr mosque in Samarkand.
