In anticipation of the start of the “Spartakiad 2020” among foreign Higher Educational Universities in Tashkent
From year to year, more and more students are attracted by such a sport as badminton. Badminton as a sport is attractive primarily due to its spectacular duel between two athletes or two pairs of players on a divided net. The main essence of the badminton - players in their half of the court should not allow the shuttlecock to fall on their court, reflecting the shuttlecock with a racket.
It is the second year, starting with the “Spartakiad - 2019”, this sport was included in the program of the spartakiad competition among foreign HEUs in Tashkent.
Currently, the number of badminton players in the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent constitutes 20 students. In anticipation of the start of the Spartakiad 2020, the 2nd qualifying tournament in badminton was held among the students (boys, girls) of the Branch at the branch’s sports base in February 2020. The chief referee of the competition is the senior lecturer of the department "Physical Education and Sport" - Iskhakbaev E.E. Following the results of the tournament, the following winners have been determined:

Following the results of all qualifying tournaments among students, there have been determined the men’s and women’s national teams of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent. They include:
Men’s team: Mayorov Maxim UTS-17-01; Akhmedov Khurshid UTP-17-02; Mirzaakhmedov Jaloliddin URG-19-01.
Women’s team: Sabirova Parizoda URN-19-02; Akramova Yulduz UTP-17-02; Dobychina Svetlana URN-19-02.
Our national teams will take part in the Spartakiad 2020 competitions and worthy defend the honor of the “Gubkins” which will be held on March 6, 2020 at the International Westminster University in Tashkent.
