Signing of a memorandum of understanding

In accordance with clause № 8 of the Plan of Practical Activities (“Road Map”) on the implementation of projects of the agreements reached within the visit of the Chief Minister of Gujarat V. Rupani (Republic of India) to the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 19-23, 2019, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 29, 2019 №  893 “On the expansion and deepening of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of India, in particular, the state of Gujarat”, from December 18 to 22, 2019, the Deputy Director - Executive Director, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor A. Magrupov, Deputy Director on academic affairs, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor E. Yuzlikaeva, Acting Deputy Director for Research and Innovation, Associate Professor H. Ibragimov visited Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University in Ahmedabad (Republic of India).

As Professor A. Magrupov, the head of the delegation of the Branch, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences noted, a memorandum with Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University was signed in compliance with the Plan of practical measures during the visit of the Minister of State Gujarat V. Rupani (Republic of India) in October of this year. New horizons of cooperation will contribute to the implementation of objectives within the framework of the reform of higher education, will serve to expand and deepen student research activities.

In particular, according to the memorandum signed with Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, agreements were reached on the training of highly qualified personnel in the field of oil and gas business, student exchange as part of short-term training, organization of industrial and educational laboratory studies, joint scientific research, and advanced training and professional retraining of teaching staff, - said Professor A.Magrupov.

As the doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor E.R.Yuzlikaeva said, during their stay at a foreign oil university they were familiarized with the activities of campus, laboratories, university library, and the research center for drilling, cementing and stimulation. It has been very informative for them to see one of the best training facilities in India, where oil workers were trained. There are many similarities between the forges of the personnel for the oil industry of the two countries. Like the Branch, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University was founded in 2007. The main goal of our universities is to train highly qualified personnel in the field of petroleum engineering. The Indian university is supported by the Gujarat State Oil Corporation - GSPC, a government enterprise in the state of Gujarat, which is a leader in the country's energy sector. Another distinguishing factor is scientific research, research environment, active support for student developments. The host party praised the ongoing fundamental reforms in the field of education in Uzbekistan, the quality of professional training at the Branch. Thus, in the opinion of E.R. Yuzlikaeva, with the launch of the scientific exchange program a new page in the history of success will be opened.

Within the framework of the signed Memorandum, the parties reached an understanding on the following areas of cooperation:

  • organization of training highly qualified personnel in the field of oil and gas business and other related industries within the standard term for the development of educational disciplines (modules) of the educational program and practical classes;
  • the organization of short-term training or lecture courses, professional seminars, business games, trainings, master classes, summer schools in the areas of study or subjects of interest;
  • organization of academic mobility of students (students, graduate students) and faculty;
  • organization of industrial, educational, laboratory, scientific practice or internship of students, scientific and pedagogical personnel, other specialists or employees of the Parties;
  • conducting joint scientific or scientific and technical research involving the faculty, graduate students, scientists and scientists of the Parties, including the organization of joint reports or the preparation of joint scientific works;
  • holding joint international conferences, symposia, round tables (including on-line) with the participation of Parties or invited foreign experts, as well as the organization of joint reports and presentations;
  • implementation of joint educational programs for graduate studies, graduate studies or projects in the field of oil and gas business and related industries;
  • organization of advanced training and professional retraining of scientific and pedagogical personnel, employees or specialists.

Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent invites all interested parties to participate in the implementation of the above areas of cooperation with the Petroleum University Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (Republic of India).
