Language is a bridge of the friendship

On October 12, 2019, the Students’ Dormitory of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent city hosted a literary event “Language is a bridge of the friendship” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the state language”.

The head of the department “Manaviyat va marifat” Shukurova L.R., the head of the department of quality control of education Abduraimova B.B., teachers of the department “Social and humanitarian disciplines” Usmanova A.A., Shalieva E.S., Demina E.I., as well as the first-year students of academic groups URG-19-02, UTS-19-01, UTS-19-02 participated in this event.

During the event, the presenters spoke about the beauty of the Uzbek language which is a symbol of national identity, a rich spiritual and cultural heritage, the reflection of the independence of our people. The names of the great scientists and literary scholars who contributed to the development of the national language were mentioned. The presenters emphasized the importance of the language for international cooperation, its importance in the socio-political and spiritual and educational development of the country. During the event the emphasis was made on the diversity of languages. Students spoke in Tajik, Kazakh, Russian, Karakalpak, Korean, as well as cited poems by famous poets. There was a lively discussion about the beauty and culture of the Arabic language.

During the literary event, the event organizers held quizzes and the students demonstrated their knowledge and language ingenuity. Quiz participants were awarded memorable prizes.

The event held definitely provided an opportunity to create a bridge of friendship through intercultural language dialogue among students and the faculty staff of our university.
