Introducing culture of reading to the youth

The round table on the topic “My favourite book” held with the aim promoting the culture of reading was organized at the students’ dormitory of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M.Gubkin in Tashkent city on September 19, 2019 at the Students’ Dormitory. This event was attended by first-year students, E. Sideleva, an assistant of the department “Manaviyat va marifat”, E. Demina, a senior teacher of the department “Social and Humanitarian Disciplines”. During the event first-year students got acquainted with the library fund in the “reading hall” created in the Students’ Dormitory as part of the implementation of the Five Initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

First-year students emurov Mirjakhon (URG-19-01), Omonov Kamronbek (URG 19-01), Mirzhalol Boymirzaev (URG-19-02), Bunyod Zakirov (URG-19-02) shared their preferences in the field of fiction, especially books by foreign classic writers.

This event was going on the next day. In the lobby of the “Manaviyat va Marifat” department, there was a conversation with representatives of the university’s creative youth. During this conversation they focused on introducing young people to the culture of reading. Shukurova L.R, the head of the “Manaviyat va Marifat” Department acquainted students with the latest books from Uzbek literature, E. Demina, a senior teacher of the department “Social and Humanitarian Disciplines” highlighted topical issues of modern Russian literary criticism were highlighted. Abdurafikov Sh, a student of the group URG-18-02 shared his impression of the created conditions in the Information Resource Center, available educational and fiction literature. During the conversation, students read fragments from their favorite works of art.
