“Gubkin Week” -2021 is held at the Branch
The traditional contest "Queen Oil", or "Miss University" - 2021, as well as for the first time held "Mr. Gas" - "Mr. University" became the star moments of the Gubkin Week-2021 at the Branch. Thematic projects in the Year of Supporting Youth and Strengthening the Health of the Population were able to clearly demonstrate the highest professional motivation and talent of a new bright galaxy of students of the industry forge of personnel.

The well-known statement about women's opportunities this time could not reflect the entire palette of talents of the participants in the "Queen of Oil" competition - students of the directions "Development of oil fields", "Development of gas and gas condensate fields", "Design of pipeline transport", "Geology-geophysics", "Drilling of oil wells" and "Economics of oil and gas".
Already in blitz presentations - this was the first round of the competition - the six finalists-applicants for the crown of the university managed to express their abilities and achievements in an extraordinary and vivid way.
Introducing a photo collage - a family chronicle, Yulisa Kvitatiani from URG-19-02 shared that, in her opinion, not only the queen, but each of the girls should first of all be kind and generous, help parents and loved ones. She also said that she is the only representative of the fair sex, not only in her group, but also at the faculty, where she feels like a real princess because of the universal respectful chivalrous attitude.
According to Valeria Kim (URG-17-01), in the Branch she has found true friends for life. “Life also consists of problems, you need to value it, let your dreams come true”, - the future specialist-developer of gas and gas condensate fields wished.
As Anastasia Babkova (USP-18-01) immediately stated, she strives to achieve heights in her profession, and the right to participate in the competition is given to her by studying for "excellent" for three years, playing sports, leadership in the Student Scientific Society.
I am a Karakalpak, - noted her uniqueness Farida Ubaykhanova (URG-17-01). Originally from Karakalpakstan, where, according to her, every inhabitant is already born with pain in the heart and longing for the Aral Sea, she dreams of reviving the ecology of the region. One of her scientific works devoted to the current topic was recently awarded the first place in the student conference "Oil and Gas" -2021. She also shared her success in the modeling business, quoting Oprah Winfrey in the conclusion: "Failure is a step to the top."
Small joys add up to great happiness, which for me is to study in my beloved Branch - said Malika Yusupova (UEE-19-01). “Life is like a dance: it is only your creation”, - this is how an activist-volunteer of the republican movement presented her way, accompanying her performance with photographs from numerous charity events, at which, in particular, she makes up the pupils of the House of “Mehribonlik”, leads her wards from the training center, where he teaches mathematics, makes reports at scientific events of the university.
I am a hostess, I know how and I love to cook sweets and national dishes, - says a native of Khorezm, Parizoda Sabirova (URN-19-02). In addition, she loves to draw, this, according to the student, is the genes of her father-artist, from the fifth grade she has been playing tennis, is a member of the university's national table tennis team and is the champion of the Branch in badminton, scientific secretary of the SSS of the university, winner in the section "Oil Chemistry and gas” of “Gubkin’s readings”-2021.
Another facet of the talent of all the students of the Branch was their hobbies, which they demonstrated in the second, creative round. Without exaggeration, numerous spectators and the jury of the tournament were struck by the sparkling Uzbek national dance of Malika Yusupova, the lyrical monologue “You are mine” accompanied by the thematic video sequence by Yulisa Kvitatiani, performed by Farida Ubaykhanova, the famous hit of Christina Orbakaite “The Light of My Love”. Anastasia Babkova presented the philosophical speech-reflection “What do we spend our lives on” in the form of posts with the sayings of world classics, and a real theatrical performance, under the process of baking traditional flatbread captured in the video, - in the Uzbek folk song - Parizad Sabirova. In the most active way - waving the switched on flashlights on cell phones - the audience also empathized with Valeria Kim's piercing violin solo.
A truly royal fashion show of the participants in fantastic evening dresses was the final chord of the traditional competition.
By the decision of the jury, consisting of leading representatives of the entertainment and fashion industry, Farida Ubaykhanova was awarded the title of "Miss Grace", "Miss Charm" - Yulisa Kvitatiani, "Miss Tenderness" - Anastasia Babkova, People's Choice Award: based on votes on the STS channel - Parisoda Sabirov, “Miss Talent” and the title “Queen of Oil”"-2021 - Valeria Kim.

No less emotional in terms of intensity and expression were the performances in two rounds of the participants in the next competition within the framework of the Gubkin Week - “Mister University” -2021 - “Mister Gas”: these are Mikhail Lagutin (URN-19-02), Vladislav Shmakov (URG- 19-01), Igor Lavrov (UGF-19-01) and Jahongir Makhamatkarimov (UEE-19-02).
- I am a geophysicist, Igor Lavrov immediately announced himself. As arguments for his presence in the competition, he cited active participation in almost all the circles of the Branch: chess, volleyball, KVN and many others.
- I love fishing, mountains and swimming, which I have been doing for eight years and have the first adult category, - Vladislav Shmakov told about himself. Sharing his hobbies - videography and motion design, he said: “First of all, I am a future gas worker: I am proud that I am the representative of the Gubkin University”.
“My hobby is photography”, - Mikhail Lagutin said, also presenting a series of works of authorship united by the theme of vision or gaze. An activist of the "Volunteers of Uzbekistan" movement, in his free time he also works in a law firm.
“I was striving for one thing: to become a student of the Russian State University,” Jakhongir Makhamatkarimov began his monologue in verses of his own composition. According to him, earlier, before entering the Branch, he experienced some problems with the Russian language, which he subsequently overcame here. And so successfully that he managed to express in his work even thoughts about the present day, ending them with a well-marked phrase in case of aimlessness of being: “What will the guys say: emptiness, which is grayish?!”.
The Gubkins also did their best in a creative duel within the second round: this is Ludwig van Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata performed by Igor Lavrov on a synthesizer, a portfolio of exclusive photographs by Vladislav Shmakov, a poem about the inner world of Mikhail Lagutin. However, Jahongir Mahamatkarimov really surprised everyone - with an almost professional rap song about his mother. High vocal technique, acting skills, but, most importantly, inspiration, without exaggeration, “lit” the audience. Probably, these are the real peaks and stellar moments of student life, the fans commented on the performances of the guys. By the decision of the jury, Jahongir Makhamatkarimov was awarded the title "Mister University", according to the results of voting, the audience award was given to Igor Lavrov.
And "Gubkin’s Week" is going on at the Branch. New events are ahead.
