“The regions of Central Asia are one of the most important geopolitical centers of the modern world”

Harmonious development of personality in the Branch of Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in of Tashkent is given paramount importance. In addition, necessary conditions are created for a comprehensive, holistic, consistent development of the student’s personality, formation of a stable life position.

On October 15, 2022, the Branch continued a series of lectures and seminars on the topic: “Globalization of geopolitics in Central Asia” with the participation of Doctor of Political Sciences Topilov F.F., a specialist in the field of modern geopolitics, the theory of international security, regional integration in Central Asia.

On the basis of presentation materials F. Topilov revealed in detail the terminological problems, essence, main elements and factors of geopolitics. He outlined the vision of the situation in Central Asia, conducted an analysis of the risks and challenges faced by the countries of the region, and described possible development paths in the context of internal problems and external influence.

It is emphasized that the challenges and threats to the stability and sustainable development of the states of the region are associated with the influence of many factors; for example, with the aggravation of internal political processes, the activation of extremist and terrorist organizations of various persuasions, the growth of Afghan drug trafficking, the problems of migration and the marginalization of cities, environmental degradation and water shortages, increased conflict potential of an ethno-confessional nature, etc.

Summing up the results of the seminar, Professor F. Tolipov summarized the relevance of the issue of the geopolitical subjectivity of Central Asia in the new world order, which is achievable only in the format of a collective performance of the countries of the region on the world stage.

As a result of the meeting, a lively exchange of views took place, the students of the Branch were convinced that the need of society, more than ever, needs a person as a professional, a specialist of the highest class, who adequately perceives himself and the world around him, who is able to quickly adapt to extreme, difficult conditions, at the same time accept creative, and responsible decisions.
