Conquering new horizons with SPE

The Branch’s Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Student Section was honored with the Academic Year 2020-2021 Excellence Award. It is commendable to note that this award was presented for the first time in the entire existence of the section (since 2015).

This prestigious award is one of the most significant a student section can receive, and is awarded to only 20% of sections worldwide. The award recognizes the section's active work and contribution to the development of students' technical competencies, interaction with industry, professional development and innovation in the field of oil and gas education through the resources of SPE.

Although the past year has been full of surprises in the wake of the pandemic, the SPE Student Section has continued to faithfully fulfill the mission of the community and has surpassed itself in every sense. The officers of the SPE Branch for the academic year 2020-2021 achieved high results at the local and international level, systematically conducting extremely useful and informative events for future specialists.

So, in total, more than 35 events were held for the students of the Branch, most of which were online. Separately, it is worth noting the intramural intellectual games Petrobowl, as well as a trip to the sponsored academic lyceum with the Energy4Me program. Among the international achievements, the most striking were: a worthy participation in the regional stage of the popular game Petrobowl, a victory in the SPE student work competition by the now graduate of the Branch Hasan Abrorov, a victory in the regional student SPE summit.
