The conversation devoted to the celebration of "Navruz" holiday was held among students of the academic group URN-17-02 on March 18, 2019. 16 students of the group, the head of the department of "Social and Humanitarian Disciplines" Professor Mansurova G.Kh., Associate Professor Usmanova A.A. participated in this event. Speakers spoke about the historical origin of the holiday - the warmest and beloved by every Uzbek.

Professor Mansurova G.Kh. recalled that the holiday of Navruz originated in Khorasan (in the north-east of Iran) over three thousand years ago. A new astronomical year begins on March 21, when the day and night are equal. Currently, Navruz holiday is an event of the public significance and one of the main Uzbek national traditions, it is full of ancient original rituals and colorful rituals.

Associate Professor A. Usmanova continued, that the main sacrament takes place on the night of March 21. This is the time for preparing the main ritual dish of wheat growth, sumalak. The whole makhalla, mostly women, gathers behind a huge cauldron: they sit in a circle, sing songs, have fun. In the morning, the sumalak, while still warm, is handed out to neighbors, relatives, acquaintances. Thus, the holiday Navruz in Uzbekistan is associated with new hopes and expectations. Therefore, on this day it is customary to forgive, not to quarrel, to help the weak and needy. All this will bring good luck and happiness into the house.
