How students of the Gubkin University have become winners

Students of the Branch of Russian State s of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M.Gubkin in Tashkent city headed by Roman Jdanov (Union of Creative Students) and Polatov Adilbek (“Rendezvous” studio-theatre) have become the heroes of the creative evening devoted to the 210th anniversary of Nikolai Gogol, the classic writer of world literature which took place in the Russian Cultural Center of Uzbekistan.

In the framework of the anniversary evening, according to the scenario of the artistic director of the cultural center Lyubov Tarasova, the student presented a performance “Sorochinsk Fair” and an excerpt from “Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka”. Ukrainian folklore ensembles “Lavanda” and “Cheremshina”, the Russian song ensemble “Kalinushka”, the quartet “Singing Hearts”, the choir “Veteran”, and the children’s dance group “Expromt” also participated in the creative event.

It should be noted that the “Gubkin” students are not only engaged in educational and research activities, sports, but also have efficient and fruitful follow-up-activities. A bright page in the life of the university was establishment of two creative associations. Thus, the theater studio “Rendezvous” was founded in 2017 with the aim of teaching students the basics of acting. The main principle of the studio is teamwork and the personal approach to each participant. Since its foundation in 2017, the Union of Creative Students has been organizing thematic events both in the Branch and outside it, including such projects as “Gubkin’s Day”, “The Queen of Oil”, concerts dedicated to holiday dates: “Navruz”, “Day of memory and honor”, “Teacher’s Day” and many others. The creative team includes: vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, decorators, PR-group, as well as the team of humor of the Branch. The slogan of the Union of Creartive Students headed by Roman Jdanov STS - “We create a holiday!”

According to interkomitet.uz, a joint project of the Russian Cultural Center of Uzbekistan and the Ukrainian Cultural Center of Uzbekistan was organized with the support of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic. Student of Gubkin University participated in it at the invitation of the centers’ administration.

Officials made a welcome speech at the opening ceremony of the joint creative project. In particular, the head of the department of the Committee, Adham Huseynov, has noted that “the event clearly demonstrate how literature and art unites people. This is a vivid proof that in our country all nations and nationalities live in peace and harmony, jointly spend cultural and national holidays”.

According to the opinion of Tatyana Ishanhodjaneva, deputy head of the Russian Cultural Center of Uzbekistan, “modern human relations can be developed only on mutual respect and on mutual friendship. the literary inheritance of Nikolai Gogol, his love for Ukraine and Russia  demonstrate friendship and unity of all Slavic peoples. I want our young generation not only to study Gogol, but to feel his wise sayings”.

Viktor Boyko, the Chairman of the “Slavutych” Republican Ukrainian Cultural Center has emphasized that  “Gogol made an invaluable contribution to the treasury of world culture: it belongs to all humanity, and this is a great blessing. In his works, the classic showed the organic unity of two Slavic peoples who lived together, fought together against external invaders. This event is a vivid example when songs of different nations are heard and it underlines that we will always be together and forever”.
