I would like to be an oilman: let them teach me!

The Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent city hospitably welcomed schoolchildren of the 11th grade of school №210 of Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital and organized an introductory excursion around the Branch. 

For schoolchildren – school graduates who are approaching final examinations, the issue of choosing a future profession, and, consequently, the university, in which they will obtain necessary knowledge and skills, is topical for anyone. In addition, such familiarization tours, a kind of travel to the world of professions are considered to be very useful. Currently, despite the fact that the demand for higher education continues to grow, competition in the educational market is no less high. Only in the capital there appeared numerous education and training centers offering to participate in training programs of foreign universities. To help graduates of leading special schools to orient themselves in the diversity of their choice, to demonstrate vividly and in reality the educational process in the Tashkent Branch of a legendary professional university with a long history means finding their targeted audience, future students who are passionate about their future profession, who will be worthy of the title of the “Gubkins”.

In this regard, the real immersion into the world of knowledge was organized by the leading university lecturer, the dean of the “Petroleum Business” faculty Shavkat Mugaveyevich Ravilov. During the excursion, he showed the children classrooms, lecture rooms, laboratory rooms, spoke about recent student victories in international online competitions, significant creative leisure, as well as the relevance of the profession of the oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan as a whole.

According to the school teacher E. Bayanova, an introductory excursion to the branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent city demonstrated the highest educational level of the modern university in terms of the reforms in higher education and became the guiding vector for children choosing a future profession.
