Using cutting-edge software in the educational process

On March 4, 2021, at the Branch’s Innovation Center the first practical classes were held by the senior teacher of the Department of Exploration Geophysics and Computer Systems D.A. Danko in the discipline “Inverse dynamic problems of seismic exploration” in a distance form for fifth-year students of the UGF-16-01 group. In the distance class, students used the Hampson-Russell software product from CGG Geosoftware to solve an inverse dynamic problem that allows them to improve technologies for describing oil and gas reservoirs. The functionality of the software product enables to expand work with data in the deep region, analyze anisotropy to identify fractures, link rock properties with seismic data and increase the detail of models using stochastic inversion.

Current algorithms, methods and approaches for the interpretation of geological and geophysical information, implemented in the software systems of the CGG company, will significantly increase the efficiency of training professional personnel for the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan.
